Medical Device Regulatory Compliance

Pilgrim User Conference: In Pursuit of Excellence
November 9 to 12 – Pilgrim Software, a developer of Enterprise Compliance and Quality Management (ECQM) software, will launch its 2008 User Conference, Fusion VII: In Pursuit of Excellence at the Clearwater Beach Marriott Suites, Fla., with a keynote address, “Finding the Champion Within,” by 1976 Olympic Gold Decathlete Bruce Jenner. Medica 2008

Compamed 2008
Nov. 19 to 21 - Compamed 2008, High-tech Solutions for Medical Technology, will take place at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany. Over 450 exhibitors from 30 countries will present parts, modules and components, drive systems, tubes, filters, pumps, valves, and equipment and technology for manufacturing medical devices. The show is held concurrently with Medica 2008.

World Healthcare Innovation and Technology Congress
December 8 to 10 – The 4th Annual World Healthcare Innovation and Technology Congress in Washington, D.C., will bring together more than 400 service, payer, policy, and technology executives to address the issue of leveraging information technology to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of the U.S. healthcare system. December 10 – More than 1,500 life science industry leaders from over 25 states and 12 countries are expected for the 7th Annual LifeScience Alley Conference & Expo at the Minneapolis Convention Center. The event will feature four keynote addresses and 21 seminars.

Medical Trade Fair in Russia
December 8 to 12 – The Expocentr Fairgrounds in Moscow, Russia, will host Zdravookhraneniye, 18th International Exhibition of Heath Care, Medical Engineering and Pharmaceuticals. The event will be jointly organized by Messe Düsseldorf and Expocentr. Exhibitors will display medical and dental instruments, equipment and diagnostics, laboratory and rehabilitation equipment, dental equipment, and hospital furnishings. At the 2007 event, more than 1,000 exhibitors from 39 countries presented the latest products and technologies to more than 20,000 visitors from Russia and neighboring nations.

Medical Design and Manufacturing West
February 9 to 12 – MD&M West conference and exposition at the Anaheim Convention Center will present advances in medical materials, assembly, and electronic components. Other areas include CAD and CAM software, production equipment, automation and controls, packaging materials and machinery, medical-device software and validation solutions, enterprise-wide IT, sterilization systems, and a range of contract service providers. MD&M West attendees may attend six concurrent industry-related shows under the same roof: Pacific Design & Manufacturing, Electronics West, Automation Technology Expo (ATX) West, PLASTEC West Pavilion, WestPack, and Green Manufacturing Expo.

February 23 and 24, 2009 - Medical device and diagnostic reimbursement is the second largest barrier to market entrance and FDA approval is not sufficient to ensure reimbursement. Strategy must be devised early in a product’s lifecycle to maximize reimbursement and validate capital investment.

Vision Show and Conference
March 31 to April 2 – North America’s largest machine vision trade show and conference will be held at the Phoenix Convention Center. The 2008 event attracted 112 exhibitors, the most in nearly a decade, and 2,500 attendees for a 5% increase.

New England Biomedevice
April 22 and 23 – The first Biomedevice MD&M exposition and executive forum is for Massachusetts’ converging medical device and biopharmaceutical-manufacturing industries. The event, to be held at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, will include 300 suppliers to the medical device industry and resources for biopharmaceutical manufacturing. The Biomedevice executive forum, will focus on technologies, designs, manufacturing methods, testing protocols, FDA regulations and compliance procedures for new drug-device combinations, drug-delivery systems, molecular diagnostics, and sophisticated imaging systems.

NPE2009
June 22 to 26 – More than 2,000 exhibitors are expected for the triennial NPE2009 International Plastics Exposition, co-located with MoldMaking Expo 2009, at Chicago’s McCormick Place. Sponsored by the Society of Plastics Industry (SPI), separate registrations are available for “The Business of Plastics,” produced by SPI, Antec 2009 plastics technical conference produced by the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE), MoldMaking Expo 2009 conference by Gardner Publications and ‘Coatings for Plastics,’ by the Federation of Societies for Coatings Technology.
